Contact lenses offer the freedom to see clearly without relying on glasses. Whether you want to go permanently glasses-free or simply leave behind your eyewear for specific occasions, our eye doctors can help.
We offer contact lens exams and fittings to determine what kind of contacts could be right for you. That way, your contacts provide you with clear, comfortable vision all day long.

A Precise Fit with Contact Lens Exams
The first step towards choosing new contact lenses is a contact lens exam. Our contact lens exams include everything we would normally do in a comprehensive eye exam, with additional imaging of your cornea so we can fit your contact lenses precisely.
We’ll also discuss our various contact lens options, such as daily disposables, rigid gas-permeable lenses, multifocal lenses, and more.
Fitting Your Contact Lenses
Once we have determined which type of lens will work best for your eye shape, prescription, and lifestyle needs, we will take some measurements of your eyes. These measurements may include:
- The size of your pupil
- The size of your iris
- The curvature of your cornea
- The relative strength of your tear film
As part of your fitting, we will have you wear a trial pair of contact lenses to confirm they fit comfortably and help you see clearly.
During the trial, your eye doctor will monitor the fit and movement of your contacts. If you are comfortable with your lenses at the end of the trial period, we’ll process the order for your new contacts. We’ll also provide instructions on how to use and care for them correctly.
Once you receive your lenses, we’ll arrange a follow-up appointment or 2 to check that your contact lenses are working as expected and make any necessary adjustments.
Types of Contact Lenses
The contact lenses that work for you might change over time, depending on changes to your prescription, lifestyle, and preferences. Many people start with standard soft contact lenses, but some may find better vision through rigid gas-permeable lenses or specialty contacts.
We’ll work with you to determine the right lens for your eyes today, not based on what you’ve always worn, but based on the results of your exam. We invite you to ask questions throughout the process and let us know about any preferences you have.
Soft contact lenses are typically made from silicone-hydrogel, which allows oxygen to reach your cornea and nourish the eye as you wear them. Many people consider soft contacts a comfortable, convenient, and cost-effective option.
We can help determine how frequently you may need to change your contacts to suit your lifestyle. Daily, bi-weekly, and monthly soft contacts are all available through our practice.
Rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses are perfect for those looking for durable contacts that can reliably correct refractive errors like astigmatism, high prescriptions, and other conditions.
The durable materials used to create RGP lenses mean that they can be replaced less frequently than soft contact lenses.
Depending on your specific vision needs, you may require contact lenses with other properties. Our eye doctors can recommend numerous specialty lenses, such as:
- Aspheric lenses: Specifically shaped to correct spherical aberration. The curvature in these lenses is intended to compensate for the irregular curve in your eye that causes refractive errors like astigmatism.
- Toric lenses: Have different prescriptions along their horizontal and vertical axes and are weighted at the bottom to stay properly oriented during blinking. These lenses are designed to correct moderate to severe astigmatism cases by compensating for the prescription differences in each part of your eye.
- Multifocal lenses: these lenses include different prescriptions in different areas of the lens to help you see clearly at various distances. Think of them as the contact lens equivalent of reading glasses.
Myopia control refers to the treatment of childhood myopia (nearsightedness). Myopia control contact lenses are specifically designed to help slow the progression of myopia and preserve your child’s eyesight for the future.
